Last year Jess and I set out to read the Standard Works in 12 months. Overall, it was great (although the forced deadline caused some less-than-effective study moments). I loved reading the Old Testament. The miracles. The amazing stories. The genealogy. Etc. As we were looking at a new year of gospel study, I felt like I needed something very different from a chronological reading of the scriptures.
In speaking with Danny Walker, he told me that Russ Greiner (Institute Director) had created a 52 week scripture study platform. I got a copy of it from Russ and have posted it here. Basically, it provides 52 chapters throughout the Standard Works to study throughout the year — 52 weeks/52 chapters. As Jess and I have started studying it, I’ve loved being in no self-imposed artificial ‘rush’ to my study. I’m looking forward to the endless sidetracks, themes, questions, and answers that will come as we spend a full week on a chapter. We’ll see how it goes …
