Two years ago, Dave and I spent 2 weeks traveling to Africa for a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience. It was incredible, and we often reminisce about the unique feelings and sights we felt/saw there. A couple weeks ago I took my kids on a safari a little closer to home. When I found out kids get in free in October, I decided this was worth missing school for! It turned out to be a really fun day, and they even learned a few facts (I reminded them that since they were missing school, they needed to be sure to learn at least 5 things during the safari). I must say that, while it didn’t compare to the real thing, it was certainly a great substitute for the kids and a cheap alternative! I would recommend the San Diego Safari Park (especially if you can make it in October)!
